GM Fabiano Caruana added the 2023 Sinquefield Cup to his year of victories on Thursday. In his final round vs. GM Richard Rapport, Caruana combined strategic clarity with dynamic execution to break his opponent’s defenses.
Caruana dominated the 2023 Grand Chess Tour, winning the tour itself (with 46 points out of a possible 52) along with three out of the four tournaments he played in: Superbet Classic Romania, Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz, and Sinquefield Cup.
GM Leinier Dominguez won second, and GM Wesley So finished in third.
