Chess.com Announces Tournament Arc 2: FGC vs. Anitubers

[ad_1]

Tournament Arc returns for a second season, this time with a twist! Running July 16 to 18 and 22 to 25 starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Time/02:00 Central Europe, four Youtubers from the Anime Community will face four stars from the world of Fighting Games in a series of best-of-three 10|5 rapid matches.

The event’s $10,000 prize pool combined with a double-elimination bracket means two full weekends of rapid chess action! With more matches and more cash on the line, who will come out on top in Tournament Arc 2?

Tournament Arc 2
Tournament Arc 1 participant CDawgVA is returning for the second season of the event.

CDawgVA, the popular Anituber and Tournament Arc 1 runner-up is taking his shot at redemption after being defeated by his Trash Taste podcast co-host Gigguk. However, he may be up against one of the most fierce Esports competitors in recent history, SonicFox.

Representing the Esports organization Evil Geniuses, Dominique “SonicFox” McLean is a five-time EVO champion, dominating in such games as Mortal Kombat X, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Gods Among Us. For their accomplishments, SonicFox was named “Esports Player of the Year” at The Game Awards in 2018, and in 2020 made it to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list.

Tournament Arc 2
EVO legend SonicFox will be among the Tournament Arc 2 competitors.

Who else will fill the remaining six spots? Stay tuned for announcements on the event’s guide, as well as on Chess.com’s official Twitter account.

Below you can see a few of the highlights of the quarterfinals of the first edition of Tournament Arc:

This exciting event will be broadcasted on Chess.com’s Twitch and YouTube channels, with commentary by Aranhawaii and JapaneseTutor. Don’t forget to tune in and watch the event!
